1.  Advantages of ductile iron

The use of ductile iron in industry is very effective. For example: To cast a product from ductile iron weighing 1 ton, the price of this cast iron product is 30 ~ 35% cheaper than alloy steel casting, 3 to 4 times cheaper than non-ferrous alloy casting, and 2 to 3 times cheaper than forged steel billets.

Ductile iron is often used to make parts that can withstand high tensile and impact loads (like steel) and are easy to manufacture by casting, so it is used to manufacture large diameter water pipes, manhole covers, gratings, cast iron pipe fittings , etc. because of its low cost, high safety and easy construction.
